Dundee Institute of Architects 2010

Partner Ged Young stood down as the President of the Dundee Institute of Architects in 2009.
Ged leaves behind a restructured awards process and rejuvenated annual dinner. His 4-year commitment as Vice President and President enabled the successful integration of a national structure to the DIA Awards, filtering through to RIAS (Royal Institute of Architects in Scotland) as the regional submission to the UK’s most prestigious Architectural Prize, the Andrew Doolan Award.
A revamped annual dinner places the awards at the heart of the night and has assisted in chapter attendance doubling over the past 4 years.
As Editor and Designer of the DIA Magazine Dialogue for the previous 4 years, Ged has passed on the developed format to the DIA Committee for future promotion.
Ged thanks the DIA, in particular the support of his Vice President, Willie Watt and Secretary Roger Brunton for their consistent and endless support and looks forward to a successful 2-year term for the incoming President, Willie Watt. Ged retains his involvement on the DIA Committee as past President and continues to represent the DIA at the Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland (RIAS) as part of the Awards Committee.
