As recently featured on STV news, construction work is progressing well on PV Flexible Unit 01 at Seabraes Yards, Dundee. The unit is the first commercial unit in Scotland to be built from recycled shipping containers and marks the initial steps toward fully realising District 10's creative media district masterplan which outlines proposals for nine separate container units.

Alongside Scottish Enterprise, the project has been jointly funded by the European Regional Development Fund, Tayside charity Matthew Trust and the Scottish government.

Scottish Enterprise director of business infrastructure, Allan McQuade, said, “District 10 is an exciting new development that will stimulate economic growth both for Tayside and the wider Scottish economy by further enhancing Dundee Waterfront's reputation as a first-class location for business.

“District 10 has been designed specifically to meet the needs of early stage businesses in the sector that require flexible accommodation which will allow them to grow as part of a vibrant creative industries community.”

The development is expected to be completed in Summer 2013.
